Eldorado Hills Thermography: Thermography and Mammography Work Together
A question we hear often is whether thermography can replace mammography. It cannot, and the two tests serve different purposes. Mammography is a structural exam that looks for masses and calcifications, while thermography is a functional exam that studies heat and blood-flow patterns. With your physician's guidance, using both gives a more complete view of breast health than either test offers on its own.
You can think of thermography as a way to track physiological change over time. When your yearly images stay stable against your personal baseline, that consistency is meaningful information. If something shifts, it is a signal to discuss next steps with your provider.
Eldorado Hills Thermography: Why Your Baseline Matters
Each body has a thermal signature all its own, much like a fingerprint. That is why your first two studies, spaced roughly three months apart, matter so much. Together they reveal whether your patterns are stable, which is what lets later studies point out meaningful change.
Try to keep your appointment timing consistent year to year, and if you menstruate, aim for a similar day of your cycle (usually days 5 to 12). Steady timing makes comparisons more dependable.
Eldorado Hills Thermography: Five Everyday Habits for Breast Health
- Move daily. Regular activity supports healthy circulation and lymphatic flow.
- Eat colorful foods. Vegetables, fruit and fiber support overall health and healthy hormone balance.
- Limit alcohol. Lower alcohol intake is associated with lower breast cancer risk.
- Know your normal. Regular self-awareness helps you notice changes early.
- Keep your screening schedule. Follow the plan you set with your provider, and use thermography to add functional insight.
Thermography is an adjunctive screening tool. It is not a replacement for mammography or other diagnostic imaging recommended by your physician, and it does not diagnose cancer. Please continue to follow the screening guidance of your healthcare provider.
